2009
JDWGA CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

We had great weather for our club championship tournament on Sept. 19 & 20. Fifteen of us played 18-holes on Sat. & Sun. and three more joined us for 9-holes on Sunday. Eleven men played for their club championship on the same week end and after play on Sun. the 10 lowest scoring men and the 10 lowest scoring women paired for a calcutta. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to make the event a success. The Ladies Club provided hamburgers on Sunday afternoon which Bob VanVoorhis cooked to perfection. Toddie made a great potato salad to go with them. Thanks for all of the turn goodies. Thanks Janet for spearheading the calcutta and to Robbie Rude and Mike Miller for running it. A special thanks to Cheryl and Mike for helping with the last minute clean up! Patty and Toni and Mike and Dan thanks for all you do! Lynda you did a great job despite your trepidations!


Julie Woodbury (A flight) had the overall low gross (185) and won the Women's Club Championship trophy. Way to go Julie!




Janie Cole (A flight) had the overall low net score (139) for the Net Championship.
Mary Weaver (A flight) 2nd gross (189) Mary also won the Eclectic Championship.

Nita VanVoorhis (B flight) 2nd gross (226), Nita also won Most Improved.

Mike Walker & Linda McClellan won the calcutta, Mitch Saul & Janie Cole were 2nd and Ken Peterson & Ann Gouchour won 3rd.

Play for Wednesday, 9/16/09

Another beautiful day for golf. Nine ladies played this morning.

Brenda Densberger won 1st gross with a 97.
Janet Rude had 2nd gross with a 98.

Judy Lenz won first net with a 69.
Lynda Farrell won 2nd net with 70.

Brenda birdied #10. Corky chipped in on #12.

Three ladies played 18 holes this evening and 2 played 9 holes.

Mary Weaver won low gross with a 90 (18 holes)
Linda McClellan won low net with a 71 (18 holes)

Sheryl won low gross with 51 (9 holes)
Lynn Hasher won low gross with 68.5 (9 holes)

Mary birdies #17 & chipped in on #2. Linda chipped in on #18

2009 Annual Club Championship

Ladies, don't forget that the club championship tournament will be held September 19 & 20. Tee off will be at 10:00AM both days. We will have a hamburger feed Sunday following play. This year we are also going to have a one day 9 hole tournament. It will be on Sunday and we are going to try to time it so that we will all be done at the same time. We will give you more information on Wednesday. TEE 'EM HIGH & LET 'EM FLY!

Eleven ladies showed up this morning.

Brenda Densberger was low gross with a 106
Ann Gochnour was 2nd gross with a 107

Judy Lenz was low net with a 67
2nd Net was split by Lynda Farrell & Darlene Nodine who each had a 71

Darlene Nodine and Lynda Farrell both chipped in and split a big pot as no one had chipped in for the previous couple of weeks.

Four ladies golfed in the evening.

Mary Weaver won low gross with a 91
Janet Rude was 2nd gross with a 94

Linda McClellan won low gross with a 66
Janie Cole was 2nd gross with a 78

Mary Weaver and Linda McClellan split the chip in pot.
Mary also birdied #13.

SEPTEMBER 2, 2009

Fourteen ladies played in the morning.

Low gross was won by Janet Rude with a 98
2nd gross was Brenda Densberger with a 102

Low net was won by Shirley Lee with a 69
2nd net was Nita VanVoorhis with a 70

Brenda Densberger had a birdie on #6 and Vera Shoberg had one on #8.
No Chip In's.

Four ladies showed up for evening play.

Julie chipped in.

Play for 8/12/09

A new date for the club championship tournament has been set for Sept. 19 & 20 so please make room for it on your calender! Play on Wednesday morning will go back to 9:00 AM next week.

Twelve ladies played a scramble on Wednesday morning. The team of Brenda Densberger, Janice Officer, Darlen Nodine & Lynda Farrell won low gross (81). Low net (42.39) was won by Ann Gochnour, Nita VanVoorhis & Kathleen Lee. Brenda chipped in on number 4 and Austene Hendrix on #7.

The evening ladies played Low Gross/Low Net. Two showed up to play nine holes and low gross was won by Sheryl Miller, low net by Lynn Hasher. Four played 18 holes. In the first flight Julie Woodbury won low gross (97), Mary Weaver won low net (78). In the second flight Janie Cole won low gross (97) and Linda McClellan won low net (79)

Play today was Low Gross/Low Net. Winners in the morning group are as follows.
Low Gross:
1st flight - Julie Woodbury (90)
2nd flight - Vera Shoberg (108)
3rd flight - Nita VanVoorhis (113)

Low Net:
1st flight - Brenda Densberger (69)
2nd flight - Ann Grochour (76)
3rd flight - Donna Carter (76)

Donna Carter chipped in to win the chip in pot.

The evening group had 6 players show up. Mary Weaver won low gross (89), Janie Cole won low net (70)., No chip ins:-(

Next week 12 ladies are off to Baker City for a visitation tournement. Every one else play straight golf.

Play Day Results

Alpha Omega was fun! We had fourteen ladies come out to play, three nine-holers and the rest played Alpha Omega. Kathleen Lee had a great day! She won the game by over ten strokes, she won the chip in pot and she got a birdie! (It was a chip-in birdie on hole #2) Ann Gouchner took 2nd place and Judy Lenz took 3rd. Debbie Cloud had a birdie on hole #17. The weather was perfect and Kathleen put out salad and lunch fixins afterwards.
